A woman’s accessories say a lot about who she is. Anne Marie Beard began designing handbags in
2002 with the mission of creating beautifully made accessories for women with
unique taste. Her Degree in Costume
Design from the University of Texas at Austin was the springboard in making her lifelong passion
for sewing a business reality.
The clean
lines of her designs are intended to showcase the bold textiles she has become
known for using. In her hands a 1970’s
drapery panel, funky knit or sumptuous decorating material is transformed into
a piece of wearable art. Her attention
to detail and focus on the functionality of her handbags has created a growing
fan base in the Austin area.
Along with her purses, Anne Marie creates coordinating
Mini Wallets, Cosmetic Bags and Eyeglass Cases.
For the woman who wants to make a statement, for the woman who is
passionate about re-purposed materials, for the woman who wants a handbag that
she can actually use - Anne Marie has her in mind. By offering a continuously changing inventory
of limited edition fabric and Custom Design services, she generates repeat business
through direct and retail sales.
Anne Marie’s work has been featured in trunk shows at
the Austin Museum of Art, the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, and the Kerrville Wearable
Arts Gallery. She has been honored to
participate in Stitch, the Austin City Limits Music Festival, and dozens of
events around Central
Texas. Her passions include shopping for fabric,
trying out every kind of interfacing available, and chatting with colleagues
about how fulfilling it is to follow your dreams. Anne Marie strives to present a unique
product to the marketplace and give women a chance to truly express their
individual sense of style. |
